Mr. Deepak Ghosh

Deepak Ghosh, an18 year old is from the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, Kolkata. Over the course of time he has shown insatiable capacity to learn and master several skills by using his foot. Initially, he started using his foot to beat the drum in the school choir. Soon he was writing with his foot! Over the years, he learnt to type on the computer keyboard and played board games. Then he discovered that he could even draw and paint.

His ability as an artist improved and he started participating in art competitions and winning prizes. Then, to top it all, Deepak was ranked second in the Painting Category in the Regional Abilympics held at Kolkata.

Deepak is a courageous youngster. He is appearing for the National Open School Secondary Examinations. Two years ago, the Telegraph School Award for Excellence honoured him as being a 'Courageous Person'- which he certainly is.
