Educator Awarded

The Governor of Gujarat, Shri Sundarsingh Bhandari conferred the Late Bhikhabhai C. Shah Award on dedicated workers of the blind of Gujarat in a function organised at Baroda on 23 July, 2000 hosted by the National association for the Blind, Gujarat State Branch. Mr. Harshad Joshi, an eminent blind educationist who is in charge of the Shakriben Mangaldas Lions Metropolitan Teachers' Training College of the Blind Peoples Association was conferred this Award. Mr. Joshi became blind at 38 years and for the 36 years has been working for the blind. He was Principal of the School for the blind, Navarangpura and joined the BPA on his retirement.
